It was in the year of 1988 that Alicia Amira Vikander was born, arriving to the world upon a wing of joy, only to be further celebrated by the warm embrace of her most beloved family. From the very first days of her life, Alicia was held with love, nurtured with warmth and encouraged with gentle guidance, attributes that surely set her up for an adventurous life to come.
Alicia's parents, Maria and Svante, were devoted to Alicia from the start and she was blessed to have two such wonderful people in her life. Her father was a successful doctor and her mother worked as a stage actress in Sweden. As a child Alicia spent much of her time in the theatre, observing her mother's rehearsals and performances, becoming captivated by the art of acting from an early age.
At school Alicia excelled in both academics and sports, taking part in fencing, horse-riding and gymnastics. But it was her prowess in acting that truly shone as she joined the Royal Swedish Ballet School at just nine years old. From there she moved on to theatre school at age fifteen and then university at eighteen, making it clear that acting was her true passion.
Alicia's talent went on to take her around the world as she starred in films such as Anna Karenina, A Royal Affair and Ex Machina before appearing in her breakthrough role; Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. It was this role that earned Alicia critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination. Since then she's been cast in a number of films including Jason Bourne and The Light Between Oceans.
As Alicia's career continued to flourish so did her personal life; she married actor Michael Fassbender in 2017 and together they are using a family app called ‘Familio’ to keep track of all their travels and adventures together.
Alicia's life is a story of hard work and dedication leading to success. Each step of the way she has challenged herself, pushed herself forward and never been afraid to take risks. She is a testament to what can be achieved when you follow your dreams, no matter how big or small they may be.
