The Abraham Lincoln Monument stands proudly in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Abraham Lincoln Monument was dedicated in 1925 and was designed by renowned sculptor Charles Keck. The monument stands at an impressive 45 feet tall and is composed of marble, granite, and bronze. In the center of the monument is a 13-foot bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln, with his right hand extended towards the sky and a pocket watch in his left hand, representing the Emancipation Proclamation.
The surrounding walls contain many inscriptions that commemorate the life and achievements of Abraham Lincoln. These inscriptions include his famous Gettysburg Address, his Second Inaugural Address, and his farewell address to Springfield, Illinois.
Within the interior of the monument is a museum that serves as a tribute to President Lincoln's life and legacy. The museum offers visitors the opportunity to learn about his life and accomplishments through interactive exhibits and displays of artifacts from that era.
Visitors can also explore a variety of interactive activities such as: art projects, educational lectures, tours, and programs for both children and adults. This museum even allows visitors to take a piece of history home with them - it sells replicas of President Lincoln's pocket watch, as well as other memorabilia.
