Acadia National Park

Welcome to Acadia National Park, a spectacular outdoor museum located in Maine, USA. Established in 1916, this unique landscape has been preserved and cherished for centuries, and it's not hard to see why – here, towering granite mountains, beautiful crystal blue lakes and peaceful forests culminate to form the stunning setting of this national park.

The first thing most visitors notice about Acadia National Park is the vibrant array of colours that adorn its landscape. In the summer months, wildflowers of all sizes can be spotted throughout the hills and valleys; in the winter, vast white snowcaps blanket the rolling hillsides like a beautiful velvet quilt. Visitors can also enjoy in-depth learning opportunities as they explore the park – Acadia is packed full of wildlife, ancient fossils and more that have been carefully collected and curated.

Acadia National Park is most famous for its network of hiking trails. Ranging from short and easy day hikes, to thrilling mountain peaks, there are trails suitable for all levels of experience. Look out for breathtaking views from Cadillac Mountain, the tallest peak in this park (and one of the tallest peaks on the entire East Coast!).

For a more leisurely excursion, you may want to consider kayaking around one of the many lakes at Acadia. Here you’ll find smooth small coves lined with granite cliffs, forests full of wildlife and even gentle whales swimming close by in certain areas. There’s no better way to connect with nature than by paddling through these tranquil bodies of water and exploring their secrets!

For those seeking a more relaxed experience, you may want to visit some of Acadia's fantastic museums. These include the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor and the Seal Cove Auto Museum which presents a fascinating history of early automobile production. You’ll even have the chance to explore a restored 19th-century manufacturer’s office as part of your visit!

We could go on forever talking about all the amazing experiences you can have in Acadia National Park – but it’s best experienced in person! So why not take time to explore this incredible outdoor museum and treat yourself to an adventure like no other?!
