Situated in Berkeley, California, Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) is a graduate school in the Episcopal Church that offers students a variety of degree programs, continued education opportunities and a chance to explore faith-based values.
CDSP was founded in 1893 and has a long history of forming the next generation of spiritual leaders and innovative thinkers. The school is committed to providing an accessible, engaging, and relevant educational experience that prepares students to challenge tradition in a thoughtful way and confront issues in the modern world.
For undergraduate students, CDSP offers Associate of Arts degrees in Religious Studies and Church Administration. The School also offers two Masters degree programs – a Master of Arts in Christian Studies with concentrations in Liturgical Studies or Ministerial & Pastoral Leadership; and a Master of Divinity with concentrations in Anglican Studies; Buddhist-Christian Co-Creative Studies; or New Testament & Early Christianity.
For those who are already ordained or who have already completed their academic requirements for ordination, CDSP also offers Continuing Education for Spiritual Formation. Through this program, participants will be able to develop as spiritual individuals as well as mentors for other leaders. The program is offered in various formats such as online classes, on-site intensives, mini-retreats, and day-long seminars.
The faculty at CDSP are made up of esteemed scholars and leaders who are dedicated to challenging the way students think and encouraging them to provide real solutions to today’s societal issues. In addition to the standard coursework, CDSP also provides its students with cross-cultural learning experiences by taking them on several international trips throughout the year. Through these trips, students are given the chance to learn about different cultures and religions from all around the world.
