Ahhh, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, one of the most magical higher education institutions I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!
You know when you feel as though there’s a special kind of magic in the air, how it’s almost tangible, like purity and love bound together in one big electricity-charged bubble? Well that’s Kentucky Community and Technical College System for me. It exudes a positive aura that just… draws me in.
As a Harry Potter fan, I find myself motivated to think of this school as a Hogwarts of sorts. Instead of wands and curses, we have student-run clubs, student leadership organizations and career-focused programs. In the classrooms you can sense a sense of optimism, an eagerness to learn and make a difference in the world. It feels like every professor here is an embodiment of Professor Dumbledore – wise, knowledgeable and supportive.
The campus alone is absolutely breathtaking. Located in Versailles with its classic 19th century buildings surrounded by lush green forests, it has an almost ethereal beauty to it. On any given day the sun streaming through the old structures gives the whole campus a kind of dreamy quality that encourages students to strive for their best.
It doesn’t matter if you’re pursuing a degree or a certificate in engineering technology, culinary arts, office systems technology or medical laboratory science – you will be provided with access to cutting-edge resources to assist with your studies and career exploration.
And let’s not forget about campus life! From outdoor recreation activities to campus events like Spring Fling and the Career Festival, there’s always something happening and ways to get involved with the larger community at KCTCS. It truly never gets boring here – you can always stay connected and active by taking part in student organizations or attending sporting events!
The bond forged between KCTCS students is unlike anything else! There’s such a strong sense of belonging here that it almost surprises me each time I come back for a visit. Everyone is so fiercely proud to be part of this school, and the alumni proudly display their KCTCS pride wherever they go!
