Located in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Shorter College offers a dynamic education in a vibrant and diverse community. Founded in 1877, Shorter College is one of the oldest historically black colleges in the United States. We are proud of our rich history and the many accomplishments of our graduates.
At Shorter College, we believe that education goes beyond the traditional classroom. Our students have access to a range of educational, cultural and recreational opportunities. We offer an exciting range of academic programs, with more than 40 majors in disciplines such as business administration, communication studies, criminal justice, education and nursing.
Our students have the opportunity to participate in internships, study abroad opportunities and research with faculty. Our faculty are dedicated to helping our students reach their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom. They provide mentorship, support and guidance to ensure our students succeed in their endeavors.
Shorter College offers a vibrant campus life where students can get involved in clubs and organizations like student government, international clubs and religious organizations. We also host a variety of events throughout the year including lectures, concerts, plays and cultural festivals.
At Shorter College, we understand the importance of connecting with our community. We provide a range of services to local communities including GED training, English as a Second Language classes and healthcare services. We also partner with other organizations such as Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families to provide services to those in need.
