Eddie Redmayne was born in London, 1982, the first of five children. His family was always close, often drawing on their shared experiences and humour to help get through difficult times. As a child, Eddie was an eager learner and passionate about acting, passionate about making an impact on the world around him.
The young Eddie was eager to explore different avenues and ideas. He took part in theatre classes during his school years and found a love of performing there. Through acting classes and school plays, he developed an understanding of the depth of emotion he could evoke from a performance.
It wasn't until he left school that Eddie began exploring his acting talents further. At 20 years old, Eddie enrolled in drama school, honing his skills and learning the craft of acting. He went on to have a successful stage career and made his feature film debut in 2006, in which he earned rave reviews for his portrayal of Richard I in The Other Boleyn Girl.
Since then, he's gone on to win several prestigious awards including an Academy Award for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything and multiple Golden Globe awards for his performance as Elio Perlman in Call Me By Your Name. He’s also known for his roles in La La Land, the Harry Potter series, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald and The Danish Girl.
