The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library was established in 2005 as a museum dedicated to exploring the life and times of Abraham Lincoln. The Museum houses over 35,000 artifacts, including original documents, rare books, photographs, and other items relating to the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln.
The museum also features interactive exhibits, an expansive research library, a full-scale replica of the White House during Lincoln’s administration, and a collection of artifacts from throughout the Civil War era. It is also home to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum’s Oral History Collection. This collection includes more than 6,000 interviews with people who knew or worked with President Lincoln during his lifetime.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum also offers a variety of educational programs for visitors of all ages. From lectures to teacher workshops to interactive programs, visitors can learn more about the history of our 16th president through engaging activities. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library is open seven days a week from 9 am to 5 pm (Central Time). Admission is free for Illinois residents and $4 for out-of-state visitors.
