The sun had just risen, spilling its brilliant light across the grounds of Lincoln Land Community College. The grass was a vivid green, and the trees were lit with a warm yellow hue.
It was here that I first arrived, a little over two years ago. I’d heard so much about the college and its reputation in Springfield, IL, but nothing could compare to the sense of excitement I felt when I first stepped foot on the grounds.
I quickly found that this was no ordinary college. It was a place of learning and opportunity that had been around for over fifty years, yet still managed to remain modern and ever-evolving. The college’s mission is to be a leader in quality education, providing students with an opportunity to reach their maximum potential.
The campus includes two state-of-the-art science and technology buildings, a recreation center, and several sports fields. There’s even an observatory that allows students to take a closer look at the stars and planets.
