It was the 14th of August, 1994 – an exceptionally warm day in the state of California, where I stepped foot into the halls of National Holistic Institute. As a proud first-year student who had dreamed of this day for years, I had no idea what opportunities and memories awaited within the walls of this incredible, uplifting learning environment.

Having only just entered through the doors, I was immediately hit with a rush of overwhelming enthusiasm; it felt like every teacher and student had a smile on their face, eager to share their knowledge and bestow their wisdom on all those willing to listen.

But to truly comprehend the significance of this institute, one needs to know why it exists. After all, National Holistic Institute isn't like any other learning institution; its mission is two-fold. On the one hand, its goal is to train its students to become expert massage therapists and wellness practitioners, preparing them both practically and theoretically for their future work. On the other hand, it strives to underscore the importance of holistic education and encourage its students to be not only skilled professionals but also mindful human beings. And when I experienced this deep commitment firsthand, my heart grew even more excited.

At National Holistic Institute, competence rubs shoulders with creativity; tradition with cutting-edge innovation; theory with practice; contemplation with action; and self-care with interpersonal skills. Here, one can not only practice visionary techniques for massage therapy and holistic healing modalities such as Acupressure, Shiatsu and Sports/Injury Massage but also learn as much about self-growth as about communication dynamics and professional dynamics.

For me personally, having studied at National Holistic Institute was an absolute game-changer. Whether it was a problem to be solved or a challenge to be overcome – my instructors pushed me further than I ever thought possible; they challenged me to think differently, unleashed my creativity and gave me the courage to accept myself and my unique ideas.

It's no wonder that after graduation I realized how much I'd learned in those sacred halls. And it's no surprise that more than two decades later I am still so deeply connected to the school that forever changed my life!
