Founded in 2012, the museum serves to honor the important role that African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans played in WW2.
The museum was founded and is currently directed by Ray Hunt Sr., a Vietnam War veteran and Philadelphia native who was struck with a deep need to preserve the experiences and stories of black Americans who served in WW2.
