The General Store is a replica of a 19th-century store, filled with items such as tools, cans of food, toys, candy, books and all sorts of other goods. The Chapel is an ornate building built in 1837 by James Allaire and is still used for religious services today.
The museum is also home to a blacksmith shop where visitors can learn how to craft metal tools from coal and forge their own creations. There is also a working mill that was originally used to grind flour from wheat and corn. During special events, the mill will run and visitors can watch how it works.
The grounds of Allaire Village also house an impressive collection of historic steam engines. The collection includes locomotives such as the D&RGW #406 as well as stationary engines such as the Port Reading engine. Visitors can learn about the history of these machines and take in their beauty.
