About California College of the Arts

California College of the Arts, or CCA, is located in the heart of San Francisco, California. It is a private, non-profit institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in fine arts, design, architecture, and writing.

Established in 1907, CCA is one of the oldest art schools in the country. The college was founded by Frederick Meyer, a German immigrant who was an artist, engineer and teacher. Meyer wanted to create a school where students could study the arts, apply their knowledge to make a difference in the world, and advance their personal development.

Today, CCA looks very different than it did at its founding. In fact, it has grown to become one of the most highly respected art schools in the world. The college now offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in 19 different disciplines and Master of Fine Arts degrees in 15 disciplines. Additionally, there are a range of Certificate Programs available for students who want to specialize in a specific area.

At CCA, students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources that can help them succeed. The school has two campuses in Oakland and San Francisco with nearly 10 acres of galleries, studios, lecture halls and performance spaces. The college also has an impressive collection of more than 3,000 works of art from renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Willem de Kooning.

What really sets CCA apart is its commitment to helping students develop the skills they need to be successful. Through hands-on learning experiences and mentorship from faculty members and visiting artists, students gain valuable knowledge that they can use to create their own works of art or design projects.

In addition to its academic offerings, CCA has a vibrant community that encourages collaboration and support among its students and faculty. The college regularly hosts workshops and events that bring together people from all walks of life to share ideas and experiences. This creates an environment where everyone can learn from one another and find inspiration for their work.

Finally, CCA has an active alumni network that includes some of the most influential artists and designers in the world. These alumni are always eager to provide advice and support to current students and help them achieve their goals.

CCA is an exceptional place for anyone looking to pursue a career in art or design. With its world-class faculty, cutting-edge facilities and inspiring environment, it is a great place to explore your creativity and hone your skills. Visit the California College of the Arts today and see how it can help you turn your creative dreams into reality!
