Welcome to Edward Waters College, a historically black college located in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1866, EWC is the first historically black college in the state of Florida and the oldest private institution of higher learning in Jacksonville.

The campus at Edward Waters College is beautiful and historic. The main building, Andrew Robinson Hall, was built in 1932 and is named after the first African-American mayor of Jacksonville. The building houses the college’s administrative offices, classrooms, library, and student union. Adjacent to Andrew Robinson Hall are four residence halls – two for women and two for men – which offer a variety of living options to fit each student’s needs.
The faculty at Edward Waters College is dedicated to providing students with the best education possible. With an average class size of 10-15 students, instructors are able to give students the attention they need to succeed. The faculty also takes an active role in students’ lives outside of the classroom by providing mentorship and counseling services.
