Established in 1975, Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center (ACWHCC) provides high quality education and training opportunities to students of Ashland County and beyond. ACWHCC provides a challenging, individually customized, hands-on learning environment to help prepare students for their chosen career paths.
No matter the program, ACWHCC strives to equip their students with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to succeed in the workplace. The career center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and classrooms, as well as professional staff that provide personalized instruction for each student. ACWHCC offers a variety of programs, such as Cosmetology, Carpentry, Robotics and Automation, Digital Design, Welding, and Allied Health Technology. The vocational programs are intended to give students the real-world experience they need to succeed in the job market.
In addition to its vocational program offerings, ACWHCC features various technical courses ranging from Computer Science to Maintenance Mechanics. Students can also enroll in a variety of workforce development courses such as Job Readiness Training, Communication Skills Training and Life Skills Training. These courses are designed to give students the necessary tools to properly prepare for their careers.
ACWHCC encourages its students to participate actively in extracurricular activities outside class. The career center has an active Student Government Association that helps organize events such as commencements and other school-wide activities. It also offers opportunities for internships as well as college visits and job fairs.
